Faits rapides: Au centre d'un lac aux sept îles, un château de briques rouges s'élève, traversé par un chemin de bois qui semble mener à un autre monde. Plus de 200 000 visiteurs par an goûtent aux fameux kibinai, une spécialité lituanienne servie dans un petit restaurant au bord de l'eau.
Points forts: Le château a été construit sur une île naturelle entre trois lacs, créant un système défensif qu'aucun ennemi n'a jamais réussi à percer. Sa restauration dans les années 1950 a révélé des couleurs et des détails architecturaux cachés depuis des siècles.
