Faits rapides: Situé en plein cœur de la ville de Ratnapura, ce temple abrite le culte d'une divinité nommée Suman, considérée dans le bouddhisme comme la première à avoir touché les pieds du Bouddha. Chaque année, des milliers de fidèles viennent ici pour participer à la procession du char et au festival Perahera, le plus grand événement religieux de la région.
Points forts: C'est l'endroit où les personnes des communautés cingalaise, tamoule et musulmane viennent prier ensemble, et les symboles des trois religions peuvent être observés sous un même toit. Le fait remarquable est que le prêtre principal y perpétue souvent les traditions des trois communautés, ce qui est un exemple d'harmonie.

- Coming during prayer time (6:30-7:30 AM), the sight of the aarti performed by the priest is very special
- Photography is limited inside the temple complex, do not forget to seek permission from the priest first
- Come wearing white or light colored traditional clothes, entry is not allowed in shorts and t-shirts
- There is a small garden behind the main temple which is perfect for meditating away from the city noise
