त्वरित तथ्य: तीन फ्रांसीसी ठेकेदारों ने 1877 और 1883 के बीच इस नव-रोमनेस्क कैथेड्रल के निर्माण के लिए प्रतिस्पर्धा की थी। हर एक ईंट मार्सिले से भेजी गई थी, और 58 मीटर ऊंची घंटी मीनारें केवल 1895 में जोड़ी गईं।
