Buy gelato near Piazza Ercole, not right at the beach. The quality is better and prices lower away from the main tourist trap.
If you want real local cuisine, try the small family trattorias away from the main road. Prices were way more reasonable and the food authentic.
Tropea's beaches are stunning and the sunsets unforgettable. Great spot to relax a few days if you want a break from big city chaos.
Loved the spicy 'nduja sausage I tried here, but beware the tourist prices at the main square restaurants. Walk a bit for better deals.
For public transit, get a weekly bus pass if you plan to explore nearby towns. It saved us a ton and buses are pretty reliable.
