About
Insider tips
- Wear comfortable shoes and a light jacket, cellars stay cool year-round.
- Arrive before noon on non-cruise days to dodge large tour groups.
- Head to the terrace for classic photos of Porto across the Douro; avoid using flash in barrel rooms.
- Skip the most expensive tasting if short on time, instead buy a reasonably priced bottle at the cellar to enjoy later.

3.5Arrived at 10am with a short queue. Paid 15€ for the guided tasting; cellar tour was worth it but the extra river view tasting felt overpriced.
Booked 3pm slot and it was packed. General tour is okay but the free sample was tiny; I would skip the pricier private tasting.
