Fatti rapidi: Circa 15 costruzioni in pietra sono sparse su un'altura rocciosa, una fortezza difensiva eretta dal popolo atacameño nel Medioevo. Una sanguinosa battaglia nel 1540 costrinse i difensori ad abbandonare l'altura, e i resti del muro sono ancora in piedi oggi.
Punti salienti: Una sola stretta apertura nel muro fungeva da porta, una difesa così efficace che pochi potevano tenere fuori un intero esercito. In cima alla cresta, a oltre 100 metri di dislivello sopra il fiume, hai l'intera valle e il vulcano Licancabur, alto 5.916 metri, in un unico sguardo.
