概要

クイックファクト: ドナウ川から120メートルの高さの石灰岩の崖の上に位置するこの中世の見張り塔は、かつてオーストリア全土に広がる信号塔の連鎖の一部を成していた。壁の基部の厚さは2メートル以上あり、敵の攻撃と眼下の川谷から吹き上げる強風の両方に耐えられるよう建設されている。

見どころ: 晴れた日には、塔の最上段の展望台からの眺めがオーストリア、スロバキア、ハンガリーの三ヶ国に広がる。700年前の螺旋階段には、地平線に迫り来る軍隊や商船を探すために同じ石段を登った数え切れない中世の衛兵たちのすり減った足跡が今も残っている。
