クイックファクト: 200頭以上のジャイアントパンダがこの研究センターを住まいとしており、世界最大の飼育繁殖個体数を誇ります。夏の間、訪問者はバターほどの大きさの赤ちゃんパンダが保育室で転がる様子を見ることができます。

見どころ: 毎朝8時30分頃、飼育員が囲い全体に新鮮な竹の茎をまくと、パンダたちは一斉に餌を食べ始め、仰向けになりながら大きな音を立てて竹をかじります。ここの繁殖プログラムは非常に成功しており、1990年代以降300頭以上の赤ちゃんが生まれています。これらのパンダの一部は中国のパンダ外交プログラムの一環として海外に送られています。
