概要

クイックファクト: 殿内に入ると、濃厚な白檀の香りと歳月が沈殿させた木の香りがすぐに包み込み、空気は静かで奥ゆかしい雰囲気に満ちている。一本の白檀の木を丸ごと彫って作られたという弥勒仏は高さ約26メートルで、太陽光が窓の格子から差し込み、仏身に暖かな金色の光沢を放つ。

見どころ: 境内の古い柏の木には、願い事が書かれた赤い布が結ばれていることがよくある。一番長いもので3メートルを超え、風が吹くと布がパタパタと音を立て、まるで囁くように願い事のリズムが伝わってくる。地元の人々には、側にある小さな香炉に銅銭を投げ入れる習慣があり、もし炉の縁に当たれば願い事が三年以内に叶うと言われている。投げ入れた時に響く澄んだ音は、心臓をドキドキさせる。
