クイックファクト: 石段を登ると、冷たく硬い石の感触と、山風の耳元での低いうなりをすぐに感じることができる。階段の高さの変化は、歩数でリズムを測ることを余儀なくさせる。20以上の狼煙台（ろうえんだい）が曲がりくねった防衛線に沿って配置され、谷間に雲や霧が湧き上がるのを遠望すると、写真撮影では遠近感と奥行き感が特に際立つ。
見どころ: 石段を登り、23番目の狼煙台に到着すると、松葉と枯れ葉が混じった香りが漂ってくる。少し立ち位置を変えるだけで、山谷全体と壁の曲線が視界に収まる。多くの人がロープウェイやモノレールで山を下ることを選択する。滑り降りる途中、低空から連続して起伏するレンガ壁と暗い森帯を見下ろし、風が耳元を切り裂く音を聞くと、写真よりも忘れられない記憶となるだろう。
