概要
クイックファクト: ここでは30の王王朝にわたって礼拝が行われ、およそ2000年に及ぶ余剰建設は、ピラミッド自体の建設ブームよりも長く続きました。大列柱室には134本の砂岩の柱が立ち、最も高いものは約24メートルに達し、あまりに太いため、昼間の光は柱の間をかろうじて差し込むばかりです。
見どころ: 伝説によれば、巨大なスカラベの像を7回回ると心の願いが叶うといわれ、どの日も、本気の思いを込めて像の周りをぐるぐる回る訪問者たちの姿が見られます。第一塔門の日干しレンガの傾斜路を少し登ると、眼下に東西の軸全体が見渡せます。これは2000年前と同じ配置で、冬至の太陽が内部の聖所を照らし出すのを可能にしています。
