クイックファクト: The forest spans roughly 900 hectares on Stuttgart's western edge, making it one of the largest urban nature reserves in Germany. Two artificial lakes, Bärensee and Neuer See, were created here in the 16th century to supply fish and water to the ducal court.
見どころ: Wild red deer, around 80 of them, roam freely through these woods and have lived here for centuries, giving the reserve its name ("Rotwild" means red game). At dusk you can hear the stags bellowing during the autumn rutting season, an eerie chorus that echoes across the lakes completely within city limits.
