概要
クイックファクト: 一枚の赤い砂岩がほぼ10フィートの高さのゾウに彫られており、その彫刻はおよそ1,600年後にしてもまだ元の場所に立っています。岩の上の4世紀のブラーフミー文字の碑文は、マハラジャ・ラーマグプタという、貨幣とこの丘だけが覚えているほど無名のグプタ朝の統治者を名指ししています。
見どころ: ゾウの背の周りを登ると、同じ岩に彫り込まれた部屋があり、その出入り口は機械で作られたように見えるほどきれいに彫られています。内壁に今も刻まれた数多くののみの跡は、何世紀も前にここで働いた手からのささやきを伝えますが、向こうの開けた尾根は空だけを映し出しています。
