クイックファクト: 中に入ると、柔らかな天窓がコンパクトで丹念に選ばれたコレクションを照らし、青銅器時代の船、 中世の武器、印象的な民俗芸術が親密に感じられるほど近くに展示されています。驚くことに展示品の4分の1は水中からの発見品であり、海の交易や沿岸生活が静かに繰り返し現れるテーマとなっています。
見どころ: 一角には小さくて普通の物の引き出しが隠れており、親指で擦り減ったコインや子供の小さな靴、割れた粘土のパイプがぎっしりと並べられています。まるで誰かの屋根裏部屋を開けたかのように感じられ、それぞれのラベルは英語とアイルランド語で印刷されているため、物語が二度伝わります。静かな午後には川側の窓から潮の香りが漂い、壁の地図が想像の中で浮かび上がり、通り過ぎるカモメの鳴き声が句読点のように響きます。
