概要
クイックファクト: 3階建ての高さにそびえ、中央の部屋には築3500年当時のままの持ち送り屋根が今も覆いかぶさるこの青銅器時代の要塞は、2万個以上の石を一切のモルタルを使わずに積み上げて建造された。下部の入口は高さわずか1メートルしかなく、訪れる者は皆かがまねばならない。これは塔への攻撃をほぼ不可能にするための、意図的な防御設計である。
見どころ: 1950年代の発掘調査中、考古学者たちはこの要塞全体が放棄された後、意図的に何トンもの土砂や石の下に埋められたことを発見し、高さ20メートルの中央塔と周囲の村の小屋が完全に保存されていた。紀元前600年頃にヌラーゲ人がこの地を封鎖した際に、そのままの場所に残された粘土製のオーブンや挽き石、炭化した大麦の粒を今でも見ることができる。
