概要
クイックファクト: 銅製の鳳凰が屋根に止まり、日光を受けて池に小さな金の輝きを投げかけます。足利義満が元の隠居別荘を依頼し、現在の建物は1950年の放火後に1955年に再建されたものです。
見どころ: 上部の二階は金箔で覆われ、輝く鳳凰が冠を飾り、池の波紋により輝きが変わります。初心者の僧侶による悪名高い1950年の放火事件があり、1955年に劇的な再建が行われ、その物語は訪れる人々が庭園を散策しながら今も耳にします。
