Prices seemed a bit higher than expected for a rural area, especially on accommodation. Still enjoyed the quiet and stunning views despite that.
Small towns around Minami-Alps have great local charm, try the soba noodles, but expect limited nightlife. Crowds were light except near some viewpoints on weekends.
Heads up: buses run infrequently, especially on Sundays. Renting a bike can save you big time and offers more freedom for trail hopping.
Weather was surprisingly cool even in summer, perfect for hiking but pack layers. Food is decent, loved the fresh mountain veggies. 3 days was enough for me to explore the main trails.
We stayed 5 nights and it felt a bit too long since attractions are mostly nature spots. The peaceful vibe is a plus though, great to unplug from city noise.
