概要
クイックファクト: 巨大で高床式の倉庫に足を踏み入れると、等身大の模型、再現された商人の街並み、映画のセットのように生き生きとした実物大の木造橋が広がります。1万点以上の資料が複数のフロアに展示され、インタラクティブな展示、ジオラマ、短い劇場作品が、匂いや音、都市生活のリズムを前面に引き出します。
見どころ: 中央ギャラリーを支配するのは日本橋の1/1レプリカです。頭上には描かれた雲、手元には漆塗りの欄干があり、周囲のジオラマが市場の呼び声やほうじ茶の香りを再現しています。2階の小さな舞台では、手動の人形と時代音楽を使った公演が1日3回行われ、木の下駄のカツカツという音と驚きの笑い声が空気に満ちます。
