Honestly expected more from the vibe, but the people were lovely. Long ride from the airport, bring snacks for the road.
Hot as hell in February, we basically lived at the beach bar. Might come back in the dry season to actually explore.
Splurge on a hotel with its own compound. Power cuts hit town nightly and the cheap guesthouses have zero backup.
Withdraw cash in Tana before flying in, the one ATM here runs out fast and card machines are almost nonexistent.
Baobabs at sunset made the whole trip worth it. Town itself is dusty and small, two days here max and you're good.
