Birgu Bell Tower

概要

クイックファクト: 鐘楼はヴィットリオーザの港から50メートルの高さにそびえ立ち、マルタで最も高い独立した鐘楼の一つである。8つの青銅の鐘はイタリアで鋳造され、総重量は6トンを超える。

見どころ: 晴れた日には、グランドハーバーの向こう側のヴァレッタまで鐘の音が聞こえる。この塔は第二次世界大戦で命を落としたマルタ人を追悼する記念碑として建てられ、それぞれの鐘には聖人の名前が付けられている。
