Skip the restaurants on the main square, walk two blocks toward the canal for family-run places with real portions and fair prices.
Sunrise on Sallandse Heuvelrug made the trip, quiet trails and great birdwatching if you like nature.
Pretty riverside walks and tidy streets, weather was drizzly. Felt a bit sleepy, bring a book and patience.
Loved the market and local cheese, but it's quiet after 6pm. Good for a day trip, not if you want nightlife.
