概要
クイックファクト: 地元の漕ぎ手はしばしば訪問者をゆっくり泳ぐジンベエザメの近くまで案内し、シュノーケラーは水面下数メートルを滑る巨大な生き物を観察できます。成体はしばしば約8から10メートルで、独特の白い斑点模様を持ち、写真家は訪問を重ねても同じ個体を識別できます。
見どころ: 朝の光がガラスのような水を切り裂き、淡い斑点の背と穏やかな口が開閉する様子が、浮かぶ見物人のすぐ近く数メートルで見えます。地元の慣習で小さなアンチョビをバケツに入れてボートで10年以上保持し、岸近くに動物を集め、パドルの水しぶきの下でゆっくりと巨大な生物が餌を食べる忘れがたい、ほぼ映画のような場面を作り出します。
