概要
クイックファクト: The Sheikh Range stretches for 60 kilometers along the Gulf of Aden coast, and its highest point reaches 2,500 meters. It is the only place in Somalia where you can see real juniper forests and encounter the rarest dibatag antelopes leaping along the rocky slopes.
見どころ: At an altitude of 2,000 meters, clouds cling to the mountain slopes, creating the illusion that you are walking right through the sky between the trunks of ancient junipers. Some of these trees reach 500 years of age, and their roots have been growing into granite cracks for decades, literally splitting the rock.

- トレッキングシューズとウインドブレーカーを着用しましょう。標高2キロでは乾季でも気温が+10°Cまで下がり、風が身に沁みます。
- 日没15分前に「天の門」の岩棚から撮るのが最高の一枚になります。太陽がジュニパーの木をオレンジ色に照らします。
- 稜線の最頂部までの登りに時間を費やさないでください。湾の眺めは標高1,800メートルの地点からが一番良いです。
- 1人につき水を2リットル持参してください。ルート上に湧き水はなく、開けた場所での照りつける太陽は1時間で脱水症状を引き起こします。
