概要
クイックファクト: 高さ80メートルの崖の火山性凝灰岩の表面に300以上の空洞が彫られており、カナリア諸島最大の先ヒスパニック時代の穀物貯蔵庫となっています。先住民のカナリオス人はここに大麦と小麦を貯蔵し、多孔質の石の自然な湿度調節機能を利用して穀物を冬の間新鮮に保っていました。
見どころ: 初期のスペイン人入植者は何百もの洞窟の開口部を修道院と間違えてセノビオと名付けましたが、地元の人々は島の古代の食料庫として知っていました。各空洞は石板と粘土で密閉され、厳しい季節を通して一家族全体を養うのに十分な穀物を収められる個別のサイロとなっていました。
