クイックファクト: ローマ皇帝ハドリアヌスが西暦130年にアンタルヤを訪れた際、この3つのアーチを持つ大理石の門が彼の到着を記念して建てられた。この門は何世紀にもわたって城壁の下に隠れていたが、1950年代に入念な発掘作業により、ほぼ完全な状態で発見された。
見どころ: 門の両側にある塔をよく見てみよう。南側の塔はローマ時代のオリジナルの建造物であり、北側の塔は何世紀も後にセルジューク朝トルコ人によって再建されたもので、偶然にも二つの帝国のタイムカプセルとなっている。アーチ道に沿った精巧な花の彫刻には、かつて鮮やかに彩られていたオリジナルの塗料の痕跡が今も残っている。
