概要

クイックファクト: ボドルムのウォーターフロントに佇むこの15世紀の要塞は、ホスピタル騎士団によって古代世界の七不思議の一つであるハリカルナッソスの霊廟の石を用いて築かれた。その塔にはフランス、イングランド、イタリア、ドイツという四つのヨーロッパ諸国の名が付けられ、それぞれが寄進者の建築様式を反映している。

見どころ: 訪問者は、城壁や通路にシームレスに組み込まれた霊廟由来の古代ギリシャの大理石ブロックの上を直接歩くことができる。水中考古学博物館の中では、ウルブルン号沈没船の積み荷を見ることができる。3,300年前のタイムカプセルとも言うべき銅の延べ棒、カナンの宝飾品、そしてエジプトのネフェルティティ王妃のものだった黄金のスカラベまでが展示されている。
