クイックファクト: 68フィートの木製の展望塔からは海岸のハンモックや河口が広く見渡せ、ローゼートスプーンビルやアオサギが時折頭上を滑空しながら、泥の中をキリギリスガニが走り回る様子が見られます。施設内のタッチタンクではホラ貝やエイに触れられ、ボランティアは毎年数十匹のウミガメをリハビリさせていると、親しみやすい言葉で地域の生態を説明します。
見どころ: 夜間のウミガメの放流はボランティアや家族を引き寄せ、最も忙しい週には約50から200の孵化子ガメが赤い柔らかい光の下で波に向かってよろよろ歩く様子を見ることができます。リハビリ室内では「ヘクター」といった名の患者が温かいランプの下で休んでいることがあり、スタッフは水槽の穏やかな揺れ音を聞かせながら、数週間から数ヶ月かかる回復過程を説明してくれます。
