概要
クイックファクト: 7階建てで八角塔の形をしたこの川沿いのパゴダは、17世紀以来精神的なよりどころとなっています。入り口に停められたターコイズブルーのオースティン車は、1963年に宗教弾圧に抗議するためサイゴンまで運転した仏教僧の物語を伝えています。
見どころ: そのビンテージのオースティンA95車が偶然ここにあるわけではありません。1963年、ティク・クアン・ドゥクはこの車をサイゴンの交差点まで運転し、そこで焼身自殺を行いました。この劇的な抗議行動は世界を震撼させ、最終的にベトナムに対する米国の政策を変えました。

- 正門を避けて左側に回ると、元の青銅製大砲と巨大なフオックドゥエン塔を混雑なしで間近に見ることができます。
