Hoogtepunten: Wist je dat het gebouw ooit een treinstation was, voltooid voor de Wereldtentoonstelling van 1900 en pas in 1986 omgevormd tot museum, waardoor de hoge industriële hallen vol daglicht een adembenemende achtergrond vormen voor impressionistische schilderijen? Bezoekers kruipen vaak achter de enorme klok op de bovenverdieping om silhouetfoto's te maken met de rivier op de achtergrond; in datzelfde licht lijkt Van Goghs 'Sterrennacht boven de Rhône' uit 1888 bijna alsof de verf nog beweegt.
