Hoogtepunten: Een oud Romeins mausoleum dat werd omgevormd tot een fort herbergt een geheime doorgang genaamd de Passetto di Borgo, die pausen als vluchtweg gebruikten tijdens belegeringen, bijna 800 meter lang naar het Vaticaan. Het enorme cilindervormige bouwwerk heeft ook een opvallend standbeeld van aartsengel Michaël, opgericht na een legendarische verschijning tijdens een pestepidemie in 590 na Christus, waarvan de lokale bevolking zegt dat het een gevoel van goddelijke bescherming brengt.
