De jezuïetenorde bouwde het oorspronkelijk als onderdeel van hun missie om te onderwijzen en te inspireren door middel van dramatische kunst en architectuur.
Hoogtepunten: Stap naar binnen en kijk omhoog: het plafondfresco van de Oostenrijkse schilder Johann Lucas Kracker creëert een adembenemende 3D-illusie van een open hemel met heiligen die boven je zweven, ook al is het plafond volledig vlak. De unieke trompetvormige preekstoel van de kerk, uit een enkel stuk hout gesneden, projecteert geluid zo perfect dat een fluistering ervan duidelijk te horen is achterin het schip.
