The wall perimeter is free to walk along from the outside at any time. The Passeig Arqueològic (Archaeological Walkway) that runs alongside parts of the wall requires a small entry fee, around 3-4 euros, and is covered by the Tarragona Tourist Pass.

Korte feiten: These Roman walls stretch for nearly 3.5 kilometers and reach up to 12 meters high in places, making them one of the best preserved Roman fortifications in Spain. Originally built between the 3rd and 2nd centuries BC, they protected the ancient city of Tarraco, capital of the Roman province of Hispania Citerior.
Hoogtepunten: Look closely at the base of the walls near the Portal del Roser and you'll spot massive original stone blocks, some weighing over 6 tons, stacked without mortar through sheer precision and gravity. The wall's Cyclopean masonry creates a haunting contrast against the medieval structures built on top centuries later, a layered history you can literally touch.

- Start at the Portal del Roser gate to see the most impressive original Roman stonework with no medieval additions.
- The best photo spot is from the Balcó del Mediterrani viewpoint, where the wall drops dramatically toward the sea.
- Visit on a Sunday morning when the Passeig Arqueològic is nearly empty and you'll have stretches of the wall all to yourself.
- Wear sturdy shoes with grip because the ancient stone paths can be uneven and slippery after rain.
