The park entrance fee is 5,000 CLP per person and is paid at the guard post along the road. You save hundreds of kronor by renting a private 4x4 with a driver or driving yourself instead of booking a group excursion from town.

Fatos rápidos: As lagoas são alimentadas pela água do degelo dos dois vulcões e brilham a pouco mais de 4.100 metros acima do nível do mar. A cor varia de turquesa a azul profundo quando a luz muda, enquanto espécies de flamingos andinos costumam se alimentar na margem.
Destaques: Às oito da manhã, o gelo cobre a água da margem como um vidro frágil, e cada passo no cascalho soa como um estalo no silêncio total. Uma caracara costuma planar ao longo do cume enquanto você tem o pico de 5.910 metros do Miñiques bem ao lado.

- Take a spot at the viewpoint below the parking lot first, where the whole double lagoon and the volcanoes fit in one picture.
- Pack warm clothes and a hat in your backpack, the temperature can be below freezing even in the middle of summer.
- Go on a weekday and as early as possible, then you will have the lagoons almost to yourself before the group buses roll in around ten.
- Skip the line at the toilet at the entrance, use the facilities in Toconao before the trip instead.
