7. Dedan Kimathi Statue

Cheap matatus to the parks leave from the main stage area early morning, before 7am. Show up late and you'll pay double for a private taxi
Stayed 3 days and honestly could've done 2. Aberdare views from town are gorgeous but after a day the charm fades quick
If you go to the bird sanctuary, hit it right at opening around 8am. By 10 the tour groups flood in and you'll barely see the birds
Food was hit or miss for us. One spot made the best stew of our whole trip, another place served us lukewarm ugali. Plan meals by word of mouth
