Fatos rápidos: O portão ostenta o brasão de armas de um grão-mestre esculpido em pedra sobre a entrada, um símbolo do poder que outrora controlava esta passagem. Através do arco do portão, cavaleiros, soldados e comerciantes têm circulado há mais de 300 anos.

Destaques: Dentro das grossas muralhas do portão encontra-se uma pequena sala de guarda onde os soldados podiam emboscar intrusos. As dobradiças de ferro originais que sustentavam a enorme porta de madeira ainda estão visíveis e testemunham um tempo passado de artesanato e defesa.

Look for the arrow slits in the stone walls on both sides of the passage, they reveal the gate's defensive function.
The best photo is taken from below with the gate framing the narrow street and the stairs behind.
Avoid hours between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM when cruise ships send large groups to the area.
Combine the visit with a trip to the Innsida Fortifications Visitor Centre nearby to better understand the defensive works.
