Fatos rápidos: As docas de construção de barcos, que fazem parte da paisagem há centenas de anos, ainda operam com métodos tradicionais. Artesãos locais constroem dhows à mão, sem nenhum projeto, confiando apenas no conhecimento transmitido de geração em geração.
Destaques: Ao contrário da maioria dos lugares no mundo, aqui os barcos são construídos sem qualquer estrutura metálica, apenas com a técnica de tábuas de madeira amarradas com cordas. O processo dura de 9 meses a 2 anos, e cada barco pode transportar até 200 toneladas de carga, sem conter um único prego.

- Dress comfortably, but avoid overly short clothing to show respect for the local craftsmen. The best viewpoint is from the pier on the western side, especially during sunset. Do not hesitate to politely ask the craftsmen to take photos, but do not disturb them while they are working. The bench in the shade of olive trees on the shore is a great spot to observe the work without getting in the way.
