Fatos rápidos: Chamada de "Casa das Imagens", abriga algumas das estátuas de Buda em pé mais imponentes de Polonnaruwa, com mais de 3 metros de altura. As paredes internas conservam fragmentos de afrescos originais do século XII, ainda visíveis apesar dos séculos de exposição aos elementos.
Destaques: Ao contrário dos outros templos abertos, aqui se caminha em um ambiente fechado que amplifica o eco dos passos, criando uma atmosfera quase hipnótica. As estátuas não estão alinhadas como se esperaria: uma está ligeiramente virada para a entrada, como se acolhesse quem entra com um olhar lateral.

- Enter through the less crowded side door on the north side, and observe the statues from different angles before stopping in front of the central one.
- Bring a pocket flashlight: the frescoes on the ceiling and in the dark corners are much better seen with direct light.
- Do not focus only on the large statues: look down and you will find small carvings and floral patterns on the stone bases.
- If you arrive after 10:00 AM, visit the nearby Vatadage first and come back here once the tourist group has passed.
