Fatos rápidos: A produção de molho de peixe em Phu Quoc remonta a mais de 200 anos, com esta fábrica ainda usando barris de madeira tradicionais que comportam até 10 toneladas cada. A ilha produz cerca de 30 milhões de litros de molho de peixe por ano, com o produto da mais alta qualidade envelhecido por 12 a 15 meses nesses enormes tanques.

Destaques: Cada barril de madeira é feito à mão com madeira nativa de boi loi, uma espécie de árvore que cresce apenas em Phu Quoc e confere um aroma específico ao molho enquanto envelhece. Os trabalhadores ainda pisam a mistura de peixe e sal descalços dentro dos barris, um método tradicional que se acredita produzir a fermentação mais consistente.
