Nara has this chill vibe but gets crowded fast. The deer are cute but can be a bit pushy. Food is decent but pricey near the parks. A day there felt enough for me.

If you want a cheap food fix, avoid the main square, walk 5 mins east and you'll find tiny mom-and-pop ramen shops way cheaper and tastier.

Honestly, went in April and weather was perfect, sunny with cool breezes. Got to try the mochi in Nara town, really fresh and sweet. Wish I stayed a night to explore more.

When visiting Todaiji, go early morning before opening or late afternoon, less tourists and cooler temps. Also cash only for most small shops, ATMs are rare.

Kind of mixed feelings. Beautiful temples but felt touristy and some areas overpriced. Would skip the weekend crowd if you can. The local noodle spots are worth checking out though.
