Краткие факты: Узкие мощёные улочки прячут крошечные площади и высокие подъезды, где из открытых окон льются тёплые аккорды фаду и запах жареной рыбы. Многоярусные дома украшены цветной изразцовой плиткой и натянутыми верёвками с одеждой, при этом почти треть квартала остаётся сугубо пешеходной, так что прогулка превращается в живую экскурсию по соседским историям.
Основные моменты: Вечером узкие мощёные улочки наполняются запахом жареных сардин и дымком углей, между фасадами на высоте около 3 метров натянуты верёвки с разноцветным бельём, и всё это сопровождает металлический звон трамвая №28. Каждый 12 июня соседи устраивают праздник с уличными маршами и жареными сардинами, старушки на углах вдруг начинают петь фаду, а на одной из дверей висит маленькая синяя табличка с именем Амалии Родригеш, напоминающая, что музыка живёт в каждом доме.
