Hitre informacije: The stone arcade shortcuts a roughly 30-meter climb between the hilltop old district and the modern avenues below, a route that once forced people the long way around the old walls. City architect Justo Antonio de Olaguíbel oversaw the project in the late 1780s, and the gradient-shifting walkway still carries thousands of feet daily between two eras of the city.
