Snabba fakta: Över 150 000 negativ och tryck från Albaniens tidiga fotograferingsera bevaras i detta arkiv, en del daterade till 1850-talet. Museet ligger i familjen Marubis tidigare hem och ateljé, vars tre generationer dokumenterade albanskt liv i över ett sekel.
Höjdpunkter: Det underjordiska valvet rymmer de ursprungliga glasplåtsnegativen, en del så ömtåliga att de förvaras i syrafria lådor och hanteras endast med vita handskar. Pjetër Marubi, grundaren, var faktiskt en italiensk exil som anlände 1856 och lärde sig fotografering på jobbet, för att sedan utbilda sin egen son att föra hantverket vidare.
