In the afternoon, when the sun illuminates the church facade and the sea visible from the terrace is at its bluest. On weekends it can be crowded, so weekdays are more peaceful.

Snabba fakta: Detta är en av de få katolska kyrkorna i Nordafrika, byggd som en hyllning till Gudsmodern placerad på en tron, med utsikt direkt över Medelhavet. Körvalens runda kupol syns redan på långt håll från havet och inne i kyrkan finns en Mariastaty som hänger 10 meter över golvet.

Höjdpunkter: På kyrkans huvudaltare finns en svart Mariastaty som symboliserar enandet av Afrikas folk och som fått smeknamnet "Vår afrikanska fru" bland pilgrimer. Om man står på terrassen framför kyrkan öppnar sig utsikten över hela Algerbukten, och lokalbefolkningen berättar att man vid klart väder till och med kan se Cap Matifou udde 20 kilometer bort.
