Snabba fakta: Hälften av parken ligger i den fuktiga Valdiviaskogen, och den andra hälften öppnar sig mot vindslipade sanddyner vid havet. Vissa alerce-träd här har levt i över 3600 år, så de är äldre än många europeiska städer.
Höjdpunkter: De vindblåsta Cucao-dynerna mitt i den regniga skogen ser ut som ett nyck av naturen: på ena sidan mossbeklädda rötter, på den andra en ändlös sandcirkel. I snåren lurar pudun, världens minsta hjort, vars fullvuxna individ väger mindre än tio kilo.

- Photograph the Cucao dunes at dawn, when the morning light highlights the shadows of the sand waves.
- Plan the most important routes before noon, as that is when the trails have the fewest people.
