Snabba fakta: Det barocka klostret med över 1200 år av historia gömmer ett av Bayerns största klosterbibliotek med nästan 10 000 volymer. Det står på den plats där eremiten Sankt Magnus en gång levde, och dess takfresker täcker otroliga 450 kvadratmeter.

Höjdpunkter: I bibliotekssalen finns en dold dörr gömd bland bokhyllorna som leder till en hemlig gång. Därifrån kunde munkarna en gång i tiden observera gudstjänsterna utan att bli sedda.

• Do not forget to bring a sweater. Even in summer, the stone corridors of the monastery are pleasantly cool to refreshingly chilly.
• The best photos of the library are taken from the corner by the door, where you can capture the entire gold-adorned decor.
• Skip the midday hours from 12:00 to 14:00, as that is when the largest groups of tourists arrive.
• After the tour, sit down in the monastery courtyard on a bench under the linden tree. It is an ideal place for a short rest.
