The city hosts the largest medieval Christmas market in the region, drawing roughly one million visitors each December.
Höjdpunkter: Climb the 292 steps of the Pliensau tower, and you'll find one of the few preserved medieval city gates in Germany where you can still walk the original cobbled ramp used by merchants and guards.
