In the morning right after opening, when the museum is almost empty and the lighting highlights the details of the exhibits. School trips come on weekends, so weekdays are quieter.

Budgettips

The entrance fee is symbolic, around 20-40 quetzals, which is approximately 2.50 to 5 euros. Students and children get a discount, so bring your ID if you are eligible.

Snabba fakta: Museet ligger i en femvåningsbyggnad på ön Flores i sjön Petén Itzá, bara några steg från huvudtorget. Dess utställningar kartlägger mer än 3 000 år av mayacivilisationens historia i Peténregionen.
