Snabba fakta: Fästningen har en yta på cirka 94 hektar och består av röd sten som hämtades från floden Yamuna. Ingången kallas Amar Singh Gate och har unika dekorationer med blom- och djurmotiv.

Höjdpunkter: I ett av fästningens hörn finns Diwan-i-Khas, där mogulkejsaren tog emot sina gäster, med ett tak inlagt med äkta guld. På den inre gården kan besökare se en lyxig badbassäng som en gång användes av kungafamiljen.

Wear comfortable shoes as the fort area is quite large and walking can be tiring.
The best photos are at the outer area of the fort when the morning sun lights up the red walls.
Do not miss Diwan-i-Khas, the entrance to the Emperor's chambers which is rarely crowded with visitors.
Avoid visiting during midday in the summer to avoid the scorching heat.
