Snabba fakta: René Haller, en schweizisk ekolog, fick detta sterila kalkstensbrott att återfödas som skog fylld av hundratals giraffer, flodhästar, antiloper och fåglar. Man möter Mzee, en jättesköldpadda från Seychellerna som är över 130 år gammal, känd för sin osannolika vänskap med Owen, en föräldralös flodhäst.
Höjdpunkter: Parkens stjärna är fortfarande Owen, den lilla föräldralösa flodhästen som togs om hand efter tsunamin 2004 och som valde Mzee, en jättesköldpadda på 220 kilo, till sin bästa vän. De två kamraterna simmar, äter och sover sida vid sida, en öm och overklig scen att betrakta från stigarna.
