Snabba fakta: Över 1000 kvadratmeter fresker från 1300-talet täcker insidan, och målningarna anses vara något av det främsta från serbisk medeltidskonst. Byggnaden har bytt identitet många gånger: kyrka, moské i flera århundraden, och kyrka igen från 1900-talet.
Höjdpunkter: Under 1300-talets fresker ligger äldre målarfärgslager från två tidigare kyrkor på samma tomt, och arkeologerna frilade dem lager för lager. Kristusfiguren i kupolen har mörka, intensiva ögon som tycks följa dig oavsett var du står, omgiven av blå och röda färger som fortfarande glöder.
